(CNN) - So, based on rumors, Google is a geek-chic + social networks that will challenge the beginner up, right?
Then why is the most popular on the service is still young ... Mark Zuckerberg?
On Tuesday morning, CEO of Facebook, which surprised some people by being one of the first to create an account + Google, has 29,543 "followers" on the site.
That's almost 10,000 more than Google CEO Larry Page, who clocked in at 19,878 friends to second place, according to Google + pages of social statistics.
Google launched its long-awaited social networking last week. Since then, it was opened to reporters, bloggers and others in the technology community, but not to the general public.
A look at the 100 sites most followed users provides a snapshot of the newborn population.
After Zuckerberg and Page, the top 10 is rounded out by four staff were more prominent Google (co-founder Sergey Brin, Vic Gundotra engineer, Matt Cutts and Bradley Horowitz) and technology journalist Robert Scoble, Leo Laporte, MG Siegler and Gina Trapani.
Web publications like Mashable and The Next Web also makes the list.
This section probably will not survive. However, in a world where the Twitter Gaga and Bieber own, it's refreshing to see the top-100 are virtually celebrity-free.
Actress, web-series creator Felicia Day and strange icons appear to the only person to qualify, take the No. 39 spot with 2587 followers.
Let's hope Nathan Fillion got there before Ashton Kutcher.
