Barnes & Noble iPad enable users to access network owned bookstore with the applications they have developed.

Step Barnes & Noble has a similar purpose as the Amazon some time ago, namely expanding consumer access to their digital book store from a variety of popular mobile devices such as the iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, and the next Android smartphone.

Amazon Kindle has previously made an application specific iPad. Barnes & Noble did not want to miss launch the application named this eReader BN.

Reported by Cnet and disitat detikINET, Thursdays (27/05/2010), this application is already available on the App Store and can be downloaded for free. If installed at the iPad, they will have easy access when they wanted to buy or read books published by Barnes & Noble.

Barnes & Noble claims, special eReader iPad BN have been redesigned and enhanced from the version for the iPhone that they had the previous release.

The application integrates with search sites Google and Wikipedia and in the near future, Barnes & Noble will add a new synchronization feature on this application.

WebOS Tablet HP Hurricane

There are Rumors that HP is working on the Slate tablet running WebOS. This tablet is called HP Hurricane internally. An HP based insider informed Examiner that HP Hurricane tablet will be introduced in the third quarter of this year. When HP bought Palm, we knew that WebOS would be placed on the upcoming HP products. The HP-Palm deal closes on July 31 and then maybe HP will be able to confirm these speculations officially.Last month, it was speculated that HP is dumping plans for the HP Slate, its iPad Killer tablet. Windows 7 Starter edition for the tablet was alleged to be less responsive and also the Intel Atom platform was power hungry. New HP Hurricane would run WebOS which may turn out to be zippy but it would also be important to note which processor is used instead of the Intel Atom processor.

Google chrome latest Speedtest

As said in techtree dot com , the website had already tested the google chrome speed test,After incorporating every possible feature within their browser, either through built-in feature or through support for add-ons, browser makers seem to be concentrating on one thing and one thing only - Speed.

The new version of the browser boasts of increased speed compared to its previous version. 10%, 20%, 50% faster, such figures aren't hard to come by. Whether the browser actually delivers these figures or does it really matter in real life usage is a different matter altogether. But one thing is for sure, these browser makers really want you to browse the web as fast as it is technologically possible.

Recently Google released the version 5 Beta for their popular Chrome browser. But instead of just stating that it is fast, they went ahead and did something totally outrageous. They compared the browsing speed to that of a speeding potato shot through a custom-made canon, the waves of sound and a bolt of electricity. As usual, when it comes to such things, we were a bit skeptical while watching their video. To be honest, we do not believe that any browser is as fast as a bolt of electricity, or even a flying potato for that matter! Or maybe we are just used to the terrible Internet speeds here in India.
But we had to test it ourselves. We did not have access to potato-shooting canons or Tesla coils, so instead we decided to take the traditional and more realistic route to testing the browser performance - loading some webpages on it and comparing it with others that are available. We also threw in a couple of benchmarks to get a better idea of the situation.

The test was runned in a Dell Studio 14 with 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8700, 4GB RAM and running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit. For comparison, we took all the major browsers out there, including:

Nokia N8 Pesaing iPhone 4G

Early last week Nokia officially introduces touch screen smart phone product named Nokia N8. Many are assessing if N8 iPhone could be a h aeavy competitor who mastered touch-screen handheld device market.Some observer as have concluded that, not without foundation. Asus Republic of Gamers G73

Here in Taipei, we paid a visit to Asus to check out the firm's latest laptops. We started off with the Republic of Gamers G73. As you might expect, its design largely totally ignores battery life and to respect, portability - the G73 is a desktop replacement. We know these 17in monster DTRs polarise people's opinions but we've been told by numerous sources here in Taiwan taht the gaming notebook market is continuing to grow. It's the only option for serious gamers not wanting or unable to use a full system. And this is a serious gaming system...

Graphics are provided by a Mobile Radeon HD 5870 1GB, an 800 stream processor 'Juniper' part. Architecturally, it's a HD 5770, but clocked at HD 5750 clock speeds. It comes with a 700MHz core clock and 1GB of 4GHz GDDR5 memory, versus 850MHz core and 4.8GHz GDDR5 on the desktop Radeon HD 5770 card. The upside is the TDP is now half that of the desktop part, at 50W versus 100W.

Also inside the G73 is a Core i7-720QM - a 45W true quad-core chip that alternates its clock frequency between 1.6GHz and 2.8GHz depending on how heavily threaded the workload is. When we first tested the chip, we found Turbo Boost worked really well - the only thing that held our i7-720QM test machine back was the G92b based Nvidia graphics chip.

While Nvidia is working overtime to launch mobile GeForce GTX 480 GPUs, the reality is the company's ageing, G92b based GTX 280M has been the best GPU laptop gamers have been able to find, so we're really keen to see what ATI can do. Asus is going with a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) screen, so the GPU is going to have plenty of pixels to keep it busy.

The chips are housed by a H55 motherboard with up to 8GB of DDR3 and two hard drives (the G73 will usually be spec'd with 500GB models), Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, Creative EAX 4.0 audio (software supported) and a Blu-ray drive and it's as much a full PC as most of us own.

As for the G73 shell all this hardware is shoehorned into; it's a monster. With sharp lines and aero-styled exhausts, you expect it to require Velcro to strap it to the desk! On first impression, the huge hinge and 'backside' behind the LCD is not particularly elegant, but after using it this actually stops it from being too big. Using the full length with would mean your arms would be abnormally far outstretched in front of you. As it is there's already a considerable wrist rest, and thankfully Asus has tapered off the front edges to make it easier to use, while keeping the lines in-check with the design.
